I have done a very silly thing on my laptop.
I was trying to get it to display on a TV thru S-video. This worked but was coming out black & white. Now, there were 3 options on my laptops video mode setup - 1-LCD, 2-TV, 3-VGA. LCD is the laptop screen & tv is tv. Don't know what VGA is for.
I had colour image working b4 but wasn't working this time round. I accidentally selected VGA as my video mode & both the laptop screen & tv went blank. Luckily the selection has a 15 seconds confirmation which restored the video mode back to TV. And it somehow restored colour!
The connection to TV is made thru my video & i pressed play on the video & when i stopped it, the image from the laptop went black & white again. I thought "No problem. I'll just click on VGA mode again & it will reapear in TV mode with colour restored.". SO i selected VGA from the list & it went blank on both screens again. I waited for a while expecting the 15 second reset to kick in, but nothing reapeared. I waited longer but still nothing. I ended up waiting several minutes but still the video mode hadn't reset itself. It was now stuck on VGA with no way of allowing me to view the current screen.
The laptop does not detect the video mode automatically. I tried to restart with all cables removed but it came up blank on both laptop screen and TV. it is stuck in the VGA mode.
Can anyone tell me how i can reset this or change the video setting back to the laptop screen?
I need your help badly as otherwise my laptop is rendered useless to me as i can't view anything.
Does anyone know what the VGA mode can be viewed on?
