| xfx Geforce 6800
I'm running a xfx Geforce fx 5200 (it does play bf2 )
and i want to upgrade for better performance and for the future. Now I have a pretty limited budget, but want to get good bang for my buck.
Is this a good deal/ a good card, and any suggestions? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150068
(remember limited budget!)
ps my specs are in my sig if you want to know

For under $200, your best bet would be either the 6800 you were talking about or the 6600GT. Both will last for at least a couple more years. |

Yes, thats a great deal on it. XFX is a quality brand, and if you have any experience with overclocking gpu's, you can turn that baby into a 16pipe 6800gt.

ive also got an fx5200. same boat lol. i think 100 bones will get a pretty decent card. typically anything cheaper is not worth it. i have been reading all the recents post as to a good card in the low $100 rage, but havent really focused on a specific card to save for yet. Quote: |

True, I did forget to mention that it is purely luck for the pipelines.
Overall though, with a budget of 170dollars a 6800 is the definite way to go.
It is 256bit and is more beastly than a 6600gt since it has 12pipes already. At higher resolutions at or over 1024 is where the 6800 pulls away from the 6600gt, ESPECIALLY when AA and AF are turned up. |
