Hey which of these 2 cards is better and which is a better deal?
    thanks!

    also would a 256mb Geforce 6600 be better than a 128mb 6800 or 6800 LE?
    thanks

le or se basically means sub standard version of the card where gpu's are concerned. Go for the vanilla 6800, and no a 256mb 6600 wont be better. I suggest looking at the sticky under graphics cards and checking out tom's guides

The 6600GT and the 6800 are very close. But once the resolution is upped or AA/AF are, the 6800 takes the lead.

You said plain 6600 in your first post. Yes the 6600gt and 6800 vanilla are comparible, but if your can get them for the same price get the 6800 for the 256 bit architecture. Alternatively I belive the ati x800 model starts in that price range aswell

The 6800 is about 5% better on average over the 6600gt. But overall it is a much nicer card, considering you get 12pipes instead of 8, 256bit instead of 128. once you start increases the effects and resolutions in games, thats where you will notice the big difference between the two.

The x800 on the other hand wipes them both down the toilet.

    Great price.
Too bad it's going to be superseeded in a couple months. I'd wait.

it'll be more expensive when it comes out. He'll have to wait probably 6-9months for it to reach 6800 prices now, no point

Yep, I agree, I don't think that we're going to see the 6600GT and 6800 drop down below 100 bucks anytime soon, maybe sometime next year, but definitely not this year.
