le or se basically means sub standard version of the card where gpu's are concerned. Go for the vanilla 6800, and no a 256mb 6600 wont be better. I suggest looking at the sticky under graphics cards and checking out tom's guides |

in toms chart it looks like the 6600 gt is better than the plain 6800.... |

The 6600GT and the 6800 are very close. But once the resolution is upped or AA/AF are, the 6800 takes the lead. |

Yes the 6600gt and 6800 vanilla are comparible, but if your can get them for the same price get the 6800 for the 256 bit architecture. Alternatively I belive the ati x800 model starts in that price range aswell |

The 6800 is about 5% better on average over the 6600gt. But overall it is a much nicer card, considering you get 12pipes instead of 8, 256bit instead of 128. once you start increases the effects and resolutions in games, thats where you will notice the big difference between the two.
The x800 on the other hand wipes them both down the toilet.

They are both identical except the second one includes some games. |
