    Viewing PC in 16:9?

    Hi,

I have just bought a Hitachi 32" LCD and connected my PC via DVI-D. I have a nVidia Geforce FX 5200 graphics card and I am trying to set the monitor to 16:9 (widescren) so that the image is distorted.

It says that my maximum resolution is 1027 x 768. How can I change this so images appear their natural size?

    Thanks in advance

    Dean

have you tried changing the resolution to your monitor? Right click the desktop, click on properties. Click on the settings tab. If a satisfactory resolution is not available, try to update your drivers for that card. Also, is there a setting on your monitor to choose between standard and widescreen display?

I've tried changing my monitor settings in properties but that is where it gives the max monitor reso as 1027 x 768. Is this the monitor limitation or the graphics card?

I would have thought a monitor this size could have an enormous resolution. Is there any software I can download that will translate the signal to 16:9?

    Thanks

... not to a higher resolution, if that's what your asking. Your at the Max. Lower should be possible, but that's not what your after.
