    PNY 6600GT 128Mb's AGP

    Hi,

I have just bought this PNY Geforce 6600GT and well it doesn't have any temperature monitoring activated, and from what i've heard this card runs hot.

I was told there was a way to activate the temperature monitor but you would have to MOD the cards BIOS, how RISKY is that?

And how would I do it?

just make sure you have good airflow thru the case.... and dont fret over the heat it produces.... the chip is designed to withstand it..

you should be able to right click on your desktop, click on properties, click on settings, click on advanced and finally click on gforce 6600GT tab.... you should see temperature settings there. It'll tell you your ambient temp, GPU temp and threshold temp.

See, thats what I said.. This card does NOT have that option.. there is a way to ACTIVATE it but you would have to MOD the BIOS people said and I don't know how risky that procedure is..

Here's a link to a guide for enabling the temperature reading. Yes, it is a BIOS mod/flash but it seems pretty simple.
