    SVGA/VGA Pin configuration

I recently purchhased a Samsung 204T 20.1 inch monitor. The supplied VGA cord was too short to reach to my computer. I needed about two more feet. I ordered a high quality SVGA cable on line. When it arrived I discovered that pin number 9 is missing. The original monitor cable had all 15 pins. Is it safe to use this new cable on my monitor? I found out that many VGA/SVGA cables do not have a number 9 pin. But I don't know when the number 9 pin is required.

Is my new monitor safe with this new cable?

    Thanks.

Yea, it is fine, most cables don't have a #9 pin.
