6600 GT OC Installation problem
Hi,
I am trying to install BFG 6600GT OC PCIe. When I bootup I get corrupted video with heavy pixellation of various colors. In background I can see vague outlines of icons.
Before I installed I used all the precautions and grounded myself to prevent static.
Also when I replace the 6600gt with ati x300se td 128mb pcie, the system boots fine and everthing is ok. The display is fine with ati x300se.
The problem is only with 6600gt.
My power supply is 300W.
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks

Sounds like BFG may have overheated your card in the OC process, I would send an E-Mail to wherever you bought it from and ask for a replacement. I would also get a new power supply, just because for any newer graphics card you should have at least 400W.

My power supply is from HP
My computer is HP Media center m1070n with 300w psu (merlot, regular B)
No clue what that means ?
What do you guys think of Ultra X 500W psu with +12V @ 34A at outpost.com

No way...I would not buy an Ultra X psu...get a good brand...one that is very reliable...like this on:

EDIT: Welcome to TechIMO btw.
...and I don't know about your media center...I don't know if it supports an atx psu..."The problem with quotations on the internet is that the sources are hard to verify" - Abraham Lincoln

Ultra X PSUs SUCK....
Thats why you dont buy brand name computers... all they do is cause problems when trying to upgrade... they're like Macs... once they're old you throw them away and get a new one...AMD Opteron 146 2.8ghz 280x10

My present psu reads as 300W with +12V@19A (350w is the reccomended psu for 600gt )
so what do you guys suggest ?
Use a new powersupply or RMA the card ????????
Any thoughts?

Well, I would RMA it...even if your power supply is under powered...unless...could you try that 6600 GT in a different pc?
