Those were mentioned for those that want to add extra drives and devices to meet extra
power demands placed on a supply. Yet an Antec TP 430w supply works with two burners
and two hard drives along with video capture/edit devices. Having a little more then actually
needed can also have that extra if needed. A 350w would be taxed on the system here. A
350w-430w did see a difference without additional heat.

It's only 18A, which is why I replaced it. I think the prescott & 6800 ultra (two power connectors!) would have killed it. But the rails were very stable with it, just couldn't get a good overclock with the prescott. It is running a 3.2 northwood & x850pro now - no worries.

The new Sonata case comes with a 430w atx12v 2.0 now, a nice step up from the 380w & at the same ~$100 cost.

There you have it. A little extra for that possible addition of hardware at a later date. Plus
if you plan on running some softwares that tax a supply you would have a stable supply to
deal with the increased demand for power. As cpu gets loaded up the draw is greater on it
as well as on video and sound cards with games in mind there.
