May i ask what is wrong with the graphics card? I dont know a bunch about this stuff, but i thought PCI express was twice as good as an AGP of the same memory? I only really play Everquest and a few other games but nothing SUPER graphic intense. I do want to be able to handle something better though if the need or want arises.
Also, what else would you say is wrong with the computer? I know its not an Alien Ware, but for $1k US i would have to say thats not too shabby. |

The interface (AGP vs PCIe) makes very little difference. Its the actual card that will determine how well games run. The X300SE is not a gaming card, its good for a standard workstation and nothing more. As stated, everything else looks good. You have a decent amount of memory, plenty of drive space and a powerfull processor. Again though, the video card is junk for gaming purposes.

Will that card at least handle everquest you think? I currently play EQ on a GeForce4 MX 440 64 mb PCI card and seems to run pretty decent. What other cards would you recommend for decent price? |

Yes it is better than what you have, but by no means considered a gaming card by any "gamer"
I wouldnt worry about it... just use it until you run into a game it wont handle... worry about it then when prices have come down...
Then be sure to ask for advice before upgrading... |

Okie doke, Now how's about a decent 19" flat panel/LCD monitor. Is lower response time (4ms, 8ms, 10/12ms) better or higher? Also is it better to have 500:1 or 700:1? and which monitor is the best? Im only looking at buying from ebay where the monitors are about 250-300 each so. Someone let me know? |

Lower response time is good. High numbers lead to ghosting.
700:1 > 500:1. There can't be too much of a contrast - that's a marketing myth, invented to sell cheap LCD displays. |
