ATI X800XL AIW agp

Hello,

I have an ATI AIW x800xl per title and the thing runs hot!! Would this product

be compatablie for mine, it does not say XL, or anything about AIW? Also would this product be worth it, meaning would I expect to see lower temps? Any suggestions on similar products?

You should notice a difference due to being a video cooler by design. But if you prefer other

Well what do you consider hot? What are it's temps?

GPUs in general run a lot hotter than cpu's.

Here's the verdict.

After checking Newegg for awhile and reading all of the reviews I gathered that this could work with some modding. I went to microcenter and bought this exact cooler. Artic Cooling actually covered up AIW in the compatability part of the packaging. When I went to fit it up it was clear that a dremel was needed per the reviewers of Newegg. After removering the two screws (no corrisponding holes in card) and some of the copper heat sink due to a transistor, it fit up quite nicely. I had to rig a support method to make up for the missing screws but all is well. My underload temps went from an average 66c down to 44c. All and all I would recommend this cooler to anyone wanting to OC and or lower the noise factor of their PC.
