7900gt vs. 7800gtx need help!

Ok, I currently have a 7800gtx. Now I can sell my 7800gtx for a little more then it costs to get a 7900gt. Should I sell it and get a 7900gt then I can always get another 7900gt (for SLI) when the prices drop? Or do you think it just wouldnt be worth it.

it comes down to this. Is a single 7900gt faster then a single 7800gtx? I have not been able to find any benchmarks comparing these 2 cards directly against each other. If anyone copuld point me to one that would be great.

The 7900GT is basically a 7800GTX with a slightly higher core clock and mem. clock.... If you already have a 7800GTX then I wouldn't worry about getting a 7900GT it's the same thing....

I got 7800GT and I wanna get a 7900GT cause it's got 24ps/7vs like the 7800GTX and it's cheaper than the GTX.....

Yeah thats what I mean. I could sell my gtx for more then it would cost me to get a 7900gt. So in essence I could get a tiny tiny upgrade at like at $30.00 profit to me thats why I am thinking about it.

If $30 is worth the trouble to you, go ahead...

the 7900GT is very similar to the 7800GTX, if you do feel like doing it expect to see little performance increase.

Guess I could just wait for the 7800gtx price drop to like 200-240 and go SLI.

Don't get SLI...its a waste of money...by the time the GTX is that much, you will be able to get a graphics card over 2x as fast as the GTX for the same price.

Instead of SLI, use the money to upgrade other things in your system like your ram if you dont already have 2 gigs (since newer games are starting to require 2 gigs)

No point in that "upgrade" not worth the hassle for the tiny price difference. the 7800gtx handles everything you can throw at it maxed.why would you want to change something so good?
Have you broke it or something
