x1800xl and BF2
ok heres the rig
amd 64 4000+
asus a8n-sli deluxe
ati radeon x1800xl
2 gig pc3200 xms pro ram
120gig wd sata
some 17" viewsonic flat screen monitor @ 1024x768 @75htz
i also noticed this with my dads x850xt and my brothers x700 pro and my old 9700 pro, when trying to select fsaa and aa options no matter how many times i restart the game and change those options no results are being shown. the edges of the characters and the buildings are still very square and not smooth and round, which is very strange to me cuz i know my card can handle it. my friend has a nvidia 7800 gt and his options are exactly the same as me, full fsaa and aa and his game is very smooth and beautiful, and mine is yet still harsh edges and no smooth buildings and characters. im not sure if its just something with ati cards or what but it seems ive heard of other people having this problem also, so i was just wondering if there is something im not choosing in the options or maybe ther is a problem with ati cards and if theres a new patch or maybe a graphic driver release that corrects this problem, but if anyone has any info please let me know. thanks.<JiGGleS>

I had the same problem with my ATI cards, sometimes AA would work, other times it wouldn't and I could nto explain it. It was not limited to BF2 either. I have since upgraded my drivers to the Catalyst Control Center drivers (I was using the old fashioned control panel drivers) and have not had that problem since.
