Being new to the computer games and graphic cards, I just have a quick question. I am finding all kinds of information about the GeForce 6800 Ultra SLI to be the best card for games like Doom; however, I have also noticed that this information seems to be quite outdated.
Can anyone tell me if the new GeForce cards that have come out, i.e. 7900 series are better with these games or if the 6800 Ultra is still the better prospect.
Thanx for any updated information. |

well you have an AGP slot, so if your looking for a better card that will play doom3 and all that you can find a 7800GS , thats better than a 6800Ultra.
but yeah the 7900gt is far better than any of the 6000 series cards

So even though there are no statistics listed, the 7900 gt series is better than the 6800 ultra? But, if the 7900 gt is unobtainable price wise, is the 6800 ultra still the best bet for the games or is another 7000 series better?
Thanx again. |

Dethrattle is right, yur best bet is a 7800 GS AGP which is probably the best card out there unless u can get yur hands on an ATI X850Xt or x800xt but the x800 series cards dont have shader model three or HDR lighting, so the 7800 GS will give you roughly the same performance (FPS) with more in game eye candy.
