i just bought a new psu 500w thermaltake purepower500.I was hoping my new psu would stop my ati x1600pro from crashing but it didn't.So i read some article and it said i should plug in the 4pin extra connecters so i did now im gettin small little black lines across my monitor and it looks a little shaky about every other line is black and that still didnt fix the crashing.

We need specs for your system to determine the crashing.
I don't know how a more powerful PSU will stop the "crashing" of your card, but it will keep your system from randomly rebooting or being underpowered to handle a powerful graphics card. Do keep the 4-pin molex connector plugged into the graphics at all times when a molex port on the card is available, it helps power the GPU fans and the card perhaps.
Maybe when you were plugging the 4-pin molex connector to the card you may have wiggled the graphics card enough to make it just slightly off the port? Try reseating it into your mobo, it may work...Mac Mini—2Ghz—2GB RAM—Snow Leopard
