Last I heard was another 4-6 months before they release them. They want to reduce the stockpile of G3 stuff first.

I heard that they would release GeForce4 Ti4200 as soon as they get rid of GeForce3 Ti500 stock, since it's the most closest competitor to Ti4200. But the date of release that I heard is late April, which is only within a month.
No info on clock speeds yet, but most expect them to be 250/250.

I think they want to run off some of those GF4MXs too. The Ti4200 beats them on pretty much everything. Its even close on the price!
I just gave up and got a 4400 from the States. Its still cheaper than GF3Ti200s are in the UK!

I heard it was as a response to the Radeon 8500LE, since NVidia needs something more powerful than the GF4MX and GF3 Ti200 at that price point.
But its out already (The 8500LE), and still no sight of the 4200.
I heard it was supposed to be out in 2-3 months after the initial GF4 Ti launch, but I would not be all suprised if they just shoved it off thier roadmap...same thing with the GF4MX 460. If it does come out, i would guestimate about one more month.

Like ND said, they want to remove some of the TI500 stock because the TI4200 flat out beats the TI500 and the TI4200 is equipped with 128 megs. I think I read about the at the x-bits lab's site.

how much faster do you think the 4200's will be compared to the 46o's?

Price wise, hmm, I'd say it would run around the TI200 now, since the 4400 is around the price of the Geforce 3 now, and the 4600 used to be the price when the Geforce 3 came out and when the TI500 came out.

Supposed to retail at $199.
The actual Mhz speeds I think were the same as the GF3 Ti500, but with the GF4 's features.
Performancewise, the GF4 460 is less than a GF3 Ti200, whereas the GF4 Ti 4200 should be more than a GF3 Ti 500.

Tom's Hardware has a great rundown/comparison of the Radeons, G3, and all G4 series cards.

I think that it is 75 Mhz slower in terms of core and memory clock. I remember reading this over at Anandtech.

I've been looking at the Ti 4200 reviews at Tom's Hardware and The Tech Report. It makes me reconsider getting a 4600 for the computer I'm putting together in a few months.
