    GeForce3 Ti 200

I have installed the drivers on the creative website: 3db_2KXP_2750.exe
and am using Xp.. For some reason the TV-Out will not work.. i've got no idea why this is happening? are there some newer drivers out there somewhere?
i tried using the detanator drivers from the Nvidia website:
    28.32_winxp.exe
but it says these drivers aren't certified for my card when i try to install! (so i told it not to continue)

i'm connecting to the TV with a S-Video cable.

    Thanks in advance, Andy

Welcome to TechIMO, just use the Det 28.32 drivers when it tells you they are not certified - ignore this and continue the installation.
I use XP and these drivers and have no problems

Thanx, okay i've installed the 28.32 drivers but still the TV-Out is greyed out
is there a version of the bios in these cards that is somehow defective?
    3.20.00.20.03 is mine
it mentions a TV encoder on the card properties: Conextant Bt868.
how do i get the Tv-out function to work? is it just a matter of pressiung the Tv button in the Device Selection window? It's although XP / the drivers aren't detecting the fact that my cable is connected or that my card has a S-Video port. any ideas?!

    thanks in advance,

    Andy

have you got the cable connected to your tv set and video card while your in the Nview options? If it is not connected then this will be the cause of "Clone" being greyed out

What you should be doing to make your card run TV-out is: 1st make sure it is connected, right click your desktop, goto properties, goto settings, goto advanced, goto Nview, then select clone.

Uhh thanx for the help but i don't seem to have Nview there, i have the following tabs:

    GeForce 3 Ti 200
Device Selection (where the Tv-out option is greyed)
    colour correction
    and the other usual stuff.

is there somethin i need to d/l.. i've already gotten the latest nvidia drivers as stated above (well i think so!)
thanx for your help so far..

    * i have now managed to get a pic on my TV, how can i make the video card send something to the TV that it can actually see? i think this is something to do with twin view or that Nview software you mentioned but i don't seem to have it (the image i can see on the TV is scrolling very very fast, like on an old monitor which couldn't support the refresh rate / resolution)

Do you have the S-video cable connected from the computer to the TV before you boot up? I'm not sure about the Nvidea cards, but my ATI needed to be connected before boot to recognize the TV out.

Just throwing ideas out, trying to help

Have you tried lowering the resolution? Maybe when the res is set too high, the TV out doesn't work(safety reasons, don't want to overdrive the TV and fry something). We had a similar problem when using a TVator for our users group meeting. We had an older model that would only do 800x600, we dropped the res and the picture was perfect

This question may sound stupid... but are you sure the tv is set for the right video?

yep, nah it's a good point!

i'm gettin something on the TV.. It's a sony set and set to the S-Video in (Av-2). It's plugged into the same socket that i usually use for a camcorder.. i just want that NView thingy to allow me to send an independant picture to the TV (i.e. not the one i've got on this monitor) and change the resolution low enough so that my TV can display it.

    Try TVTool.
nVIDIA never stopped messing with TV-Out option

Another thing to try : before I knew of TVTool existance (and with GeForce2), I used to disconnect my monitor from the VGA port leaving only TV-Out cable connected, then powering the computer - it was booting with TV ... don't know if it will work with GeForce3, however ...

Well I thought TVTool was quite a good program, was quite fiddly in areas though, I especially liked the fullscreen mode, but I think I'll just stay with Nview in the meantime.

Thanks ND! I can actually get something i can read on my TV screen now!
Gonna have to try out Q3 later
I've also got a 5.1 amp but a crap sound card.. maybe a time for an upgrade does Q3 support Dolby Digital? hmm a bit off topic maybe!

So what can Nview do that this can't?
Am i just being dumb or can someone walk me through this NView thing?
I have the Nvidia Nview Desktop Manager on my Control Panel.. I just dunno how to make it out-put to TV as the Display thing in the control panel seems to think there is no TV connected?!
    How can i use this?
