graphic card question

Hi I am currently considering buying a graphic card to upgrade my crappy built in one, I have had my eye on the Point Of View 7900GT what is priced at around £ 250 but I am unsure if this graphic card would be able to play games like F.E.A.R and oblivion with all the eye candy on?
Can anyone help or suggest a card that would play these games for near the same price?

Thank for any help suggested!

a 7900gt should be able to play every game on the market with ALL the eyecandy enabled.
my personal preference is XFX

Welcome to TechIMO!!

you also have to make sure if your going to be getting a 7900 or whatever that your computer can handle it (PSU, motherboard)... What is your computer currently? Does it have AGP or a PCI-Ex slot? and if your going to be getting a top of the line card you have to know what your PSU is and make sure it can handle the card

Yeah my motherboard and PSU will support the card, but one thing i did notice was that on a discription of the motherboard under graphics it has this discription:

Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950 (GMA 950)
Up to 224MB DDR shared video memory
1 PCI-Express slot available for high performance video card

does this mean my new graphic card can only have upto 224 MB video memory? or was talking about the built in card?

i know stupid question!

no it is saying that the gma 950 can have up to 224 MB of system memory allocated to it, a deticated card will have its own ram so that dosen't matter
