Radeon driver problem.. HELP

I have a radeon 9800xt and recently I have been having driver problems. A few days ago I was playing WoW and suddenly my graphics settings would reset and my desktop resolution would be the same as my game. I didnt think much of this at first.

Well after a few days of this happening soon the graphic settings would reset and then my driver would basically stop working. The game would crash and my computer acts like there are no graphic drivers. My windows I open and drag move slow as if there are no drivers at all. I restart my computer and it works again for about 5 minutes then the screen goes black and the drivers are not working again.

Anyone have any idea what could be causing the reset of my drivers over and over? It just started happening recently. Never had this problem before. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers three times now and no luck on getting it to work. I first thought maybe the card was over heating but i put a fan next to my computer and its almost cold now and it still does this.

have you tried the drivers that came with the disk?

What drivers are you using right now?

ATI, thirdparty, etc

I am using the ATI drivers from their site. And I do not have the original driver disk anymore.

check settings for 4x/8x....fastwrite on or off

right click on desktop>>properties>>settings>>advanced>>smartgart
