Triple Monitor Setup!
I was just wandering, what would i need for a triple monitor setup, obviously 3 monitors but i did see something about a special port thing, and also could you give the price for a triple setup.
Forget about the price, i'm not going to get it, well you could show the price actually.Last edited by FuturePerfect; September 22nd, 2006 at 05:26 PM.

There are a few ways to do it.
The cheapest would be to get an AGP/PCI-E card that supports dual monitors and a PCI card to drive the third.
Alternatively you could buy a card that supports 3 monitors on its own, but they are much more expensive.

Monitors continue going up by 2" (ie: 19" 21" 23" etc...)

triple monitors are nice. What exactly are you going to do with it? You can do a setup like this from less than $100, including monitors and vid cars, if you are only going to do desktop 2d Applications.
For better quality, it's all aoubt what resolutions your card(s) and monitors will support.

a 19" CRT is actually about the minimum I would reccomend anymore
if you are looking at a 2 or 3 monitor setup go with atleast 19" for each
that 2" think is not really true there are 20" and 24" as well and a few obscure older sizes as wellHey who turned sigs on?

C'mon guys. What he's looking for is SURROUND GAMING on a Matrox Triple Head 2 Go adaptor! You want three 19" LCD's of the same brand and a Matrox Triple Head 2 go box and whallah! Surround gaming.

Yeah maybe... If Matrox could develop a decent gaming card that would be nice. While their cards have better image quality than nVidia or ATI has, they are also under powered and overpriced.

Triple is the way to go. Wish these were LCDs, though.

I don't use Tripple Head.. I just use dual PCI-E cards (one 9800GT and one 6600GT) and have support for 4 monitors.
2-19", 1-20" and 1-17".. (all Flat panel LCD's using DVI)
Works great for me.

3 monitors
I use 3 monitors now but want to upgrade them.
Was thinking of using a 24-28 inch main, flanked by two 17-19 inch or something. But want the height of the main to equal the width of the sides (move them vertical) to make them seamless by screen size and monitor size.
Anyone know of what brands to use to do this without breaking the bank? Rather buy monitors separately to make it cheaper.

Since this thread was well over three y/o, I'd think you might be better off starting a new topic...

setting up 3 , 4, 5 up to 6 monitors .
I bought a Multi dispaly Adapter USB 2.0 UGA from dispalylink and it worked great. It cost me about 70 USD. It would have cost me around 300 USD if I had to buy a graffic card that support 3 monitors since I had thin tower which did not accept standard graphic cards. So that was a great work around. You can even add up to 6 monitor using this external adapter. pretty cool.

There is a vintage Diaclone Grimlock in the original box on eBay. Diaclone, as in before Transformers G1. Start is $429.
