i have always liked BFG, but in this case i would say the XFX looks nice. What are your other system specs?

I'd go for the BFG. Faster version & lower price. Core clock @ 520 instead of 500. They are very simmilar every other way. |

thanks him61, i didnt even see that, everything else looked pretty much the same.
darkzephr, if you are going to be making this big of an investment in a graphics card, why not go with PCI-Ex, yea i know you'll have to upgrade some stuff, but if you want to be able to play games for years to come and not be stuck with AGP, which BTW is a dying breed, sad to say |

well I only really have about 250$ in total, so I doubt Ill be able to afford a new motherboard.
I'm just looking for something to get me by for the next year.
My system specs are:
Nvidia Geforce 5200 FX 124 MB
80GB HD
Pentium 4 2.66GHz
768 MB of RAM
And thanks for all the help. I think Im gonna go with the BFG!
oh, and how do you check power supply?

| Open up the case & look at the PSU label. Try to find the Maximum Power (Wattage) & Output information.
i.e. 350W, +3.3V@22A, +5V@21A, +12V1@18A, +12V2@16A, -12V@0.3A, +5VSB@2A |

I did the same for an in-between-upgrade. I wanted to squeeze another year out my AGP NVIDIA card, so I went with a L775 socket mobo that still supported the AGP slot, but allowed me to go dual core on a Pentium. I went with TigerDirect's end of summer special and got a good combo deal on cpu & mobo, which after rebate only ran me about $145. In another year, I'll make the major upgrade and go PCI Express. I'm very happy with the upgrade I made from my aging P4 2.4 Ghz system, which is carrying on its good work in my daughter's case.
