Need help with my setup!!! Please

hi there right the problem i have got is when i play cetain games ie: scarface or pga tour 06 or 07 my monitor turns to standby and the only way to get it on again is to reset my machine now i know this may be for a few reasons but it concerns me it is only on a few games and not the rest battlefield 2 is fine and so is fifa 07 i have read the other posts relavent to my card the fan is allways on the card doesnt feel too hot just toastie warm. any help would be great befor i send it back only to find its somthing ive done lol

my set up is

amd 64 3200+
1gig ram
powercolor x800xl
80gig hd 7200rpm
and iiyama vision master pro512

p.s. i have tried other monitors two crt and one tft but get the same problem i am having to use a converter as my monitor is crt and the card has two tft outputs!

i forgot the motherboard is an ASUS A8N-E

Use the safe-mode or setup utility which comes with most games to make sure they are set to a resolution and refresh rate which both your monitor and graphics card can handle.

sounds like those certain games may use a resolution rate that's too high for either your monitor or your video card which will cause this problem. on some monitors you may get a message on it something along the lines out "out of range" any messages like that?
