    how to turn off onboard video?

     
    Hi

    I have a KM400A Pro Motherboard and want to know how to turn off onboard video , i put in a video card and the screen wouldn't turn on.

    Hello and Welcome to TechIMO...

    Well you should be able to do that through your BIOS, do you have a Dell or what kind of computer, different computers use differnet keys (F2, Delete, etc) to enter the BIOS.. When you first turn on your computer you'll see the screen that says hit "__" to enter setup. In there you should be able to find an option to turn off the onboard video. What motherboard/computer do you have?

    Thanks and my Motherboard is a KM400A PRO , each time i turned on the PC the screen would not turn on

    for now use your onboard and shut it off, keep the other card installed... then reboot, see how it goes from there? What are your system specs? like what processor, etc are you running?

    it's a 1.3GHz , 448mb of ram

    Just to check, you are plugging the monitor into the video card once it is installed and not to the onboard video from the motherboard right?

    Hi , yes i did plug the monitor into the card

    it works but just wont play games properly ( it laggs )

    it's a 128mb card

    my problem now is to get the card running at it's high standard


    oh where would i find the old drivers ? ( to un in stall )

    what card is this and what games are you trying to play? did you remove the old video drivers and install the latest version for the new card?

    ps there is an edit button so you don't have to keep replying to yourself

    the card is a : nVidia Power Color Sniper 2 TNT2 M64

    and i have installed latest drivers and where would i find old driver for on board?

    UGGG... that's an OLD video card. What games are you trying to play?
