850xt to 1950 xtx

hello, i plan on upgradeing gpus...but im not in tooo much of a rush becuase as of now i can play all games on max details and res. which in my case is 1600.1200...and still get at least 30 fps on average. but my point is that will graphics look better on a differnet card even if the settings stay the same?? becuase i dont plan on spending an extra 100 bucks just to get maybe twice the fps....and it is already smooth gameplay now... so can you help me out. thanks

You'll only see an image improvement between SM 2.0 & SM 3.0, which really isn't much at all. If you want more frames & image improvements you'd probably be better off waiting for a new DX10 card. Here's a article with comparision images between the different shader models.

What games are you playing that are averaging 30fps at 1600x1200 with max details on a 850xt?

here are the games i play and average fps...

brothers in arms earned in blood- 30fps

call of duty 2- 34fps

madden 07- 60fps

doom 3- 36fps

and if aa. is a option i have it set at max. in call of duty 2...that is 4x and in brothers in arms or doom forget which one...it is 16x....and yes i have that maxed out two. but..

so far i have seen two wait until dx10 comes out to upgrade...anybody else have a opion on that?
