Hi guys - its been quite a while since I've posted. I'm looking at getting an X1950 Pro video card, but from the pictures it seems very long. I'm using an Antec Lanboy case which has somewhat limited space due to the sideways hard drive cages at the back.
Has anyone used an X1950 Pro (or similar sized card) in a Lanboy case?? Or does anyone know the actual length of these cards - so I can measure it up and make sure it will fit?? |

I have one in my Sonata II case. Its drive cage is sideways, that is, you see the butt end of the hard drive. It's a long card for sure..say 10"??? |

(Seems like the Lanboy has about an inch less of space to work with between the back of the case and the drive cage vs. the Sonata II)
Anyone willing get an actual measurement of the length of their X1950?
You'd think ATI would give the physical dimensions of the card on their website - but I can't find it anywhere. |

Thats right in line with the 10 inch figure that Rootstonian gave. In my case, 10" would barely fit - but would leave no room at all for the PCIe power connector at the back of the card.
I think I'll go with my second choice (nVidia 7900GS). Its significantly shorter, and uses less power, so I can also probably get away without upgrading my power supply (for now). Looks like next upgrade will have to include a new case & PSU. |

Yeah, I don't think it would fit. The Sonata II is a "long" case; I may have 1 to 2" of free space at the end of this card. |

Thanks everyone for the help. I ordered the nVidia 7900 GS card instead. I know that one will fit. It should give me similar performance and isn't as power hungry. And Newegg is offering big rebates until the end of the year, so it will be cheaper as well. |

lol nice...tiger direct makes it seem like their prices are cheaper then anyones elses...for example...newegg sells something for 200 dollars and is offering a 20 dollar rebate but tiger direct sells the same thing for 250 dollars and is offering a 70 dollar rebate...in the end they are both the same prices with the rebate but who looks better? |

They are a greedy company, I've never seen a company do more rebates than Best Buy and TigerDirect is running some close competition with them
