16:9 wide screen lcd resolutions

I was wondering what a good wide screen resolution would be for my tv. its running off of vga and i have 1024x768 right now but it stretches everything out and makes the pictures look wide screen. im at 60mhz refresh rate. could you reply with some higher resolution widescreen res's?
also the native of the screen is 1366x768 and when i try that it says vv

-----------------------------[No Signal]-----------
across the screen.
is also the tv has phase control....(what ever that is?) anyways could you also explain that and how i could make the resolution the best for viewing?

thnks always, MOdfreak33!

what are you trying to run it off of... (video card) ... maybe your video card has only certain display properties...

i am running my ati 9800 pro at 1440X900 for my 19" widescreen LCD ... but that's the max of my LCD...

sounds like you need to go wider... but maybe your video card isn't allowing it...

Most LCD TVs will only accept 1024x768 input from a computer if it has a VGA port. There's nothing you can do unless you have a high definition output on your video card.
