PCI cheapest
Matrox easiest
PCI-E most expensive... | I don't like the sound of the 4MB PCI card that was mentioned. Those things are typically horribly slow, compared with more modern cards.

| Who cares? Speed doesn't matter for plain video. The card is capable of 2d rendering at the necessary resolution of the TV, and therefore it is perfectly capable of driving the TV. (Though, such a card would require software decoding of video, as opposed to the hardware decoding of a more modern card. Still, on modern systems it wouldn't make that much of a difference.)
Doesn't really matter anyway, I guess, since it's already been ruled out for future compatibility reasons. |

Question... I want to have 3 monitors for editing. I hope to have my third monitor as the Monitor that shows full scale video as it plays mostly for color correction.
So would this work:
Asus P5QL Pro with EVGA Nvidia 8800gt and a random PCI card like EVGA Nvidia Geforce FX 5200. I would use the 8800 for my dual lcd monitors and the 5200 for a 37" Projections LCD TV.
Any help would be great. I just want to edit video and have a video output to a television that would be simply video. Something like hardware overlay...
Or would it be better to get:
Asus P5N-D (Nvidia SLI 750i) and have 2 8800gt cards?
