| Artifact display problems in Win Vista
Hello guys,i would like to report a problem..
My graphics card is an nVidia 7600GS from 3d Club.
I have Windows Vista Business installed and i have the problem you can see in my attached pic..
I've tried with all the drivers nvidia published for Vista and the problem persists..The strange thing is that with windows XP i don't have any problem..
My motherboard is an ECS 648FX-A.. |

Is your video card overheating?
Does it do this on all games?
The vista drivers for many videocards and games in general are still very buggy at this point in time.

A 7600GS in not a Direct X10 video card | Vista supports DX10 yea, as you can only utilize dx10 on vista. However, Vista supports DX9 card perfectly fine.
Hell, if it didn't that would mean vista would be available to only those with 8800 series cards Not many sales in that! |

I've tried World of Warcraft and F.E.A.R. and in both i have problems,as in dawn of war:dark crusade..The only game i tried and didn't have problem was Doom 3..
What's more,i don't think it's overheating, it has the same temperature as it had in win xp,according to nvidia's control panel..
My opinion is that it's the drivers' fault too but feel free to suggest anything |

Just from looking at the pic, You must play WoW. Excellent game. Next, are you overclocking either the cpu or video card or both?

First of all, nothing in my pc is overclocked..
I tried to re-install Direct-X but it didn't work..
So you think it's Direct-X' problem and not nvidia drivers' ??
What do you think i should?Just wait a while for updates and stuff until i re-install Vista?:P |

well, since it works fine in XP and Vista is where you're having problems, I'm definitely thinking drivers are the culprit. Futhermore, its likely nVidia's driver that's the problem. They've had some nice bugs in their Vista drivers that haven't been ironed out yet. if you're dool-booting, I suggest you play the game on XP until nVidia gets some new drivers out.

Today i saw that nvidia releashed new beta drivers for vista, with one of its features saying - Single GPU support
- DirectX 9 support for GeForce 6/7/8 series GPUs
- DirectX 10 support for GeForce 8800 GPUs
- OpenGL support for GeForce 6/7/8 series GPUs
Maybe this is the end of my problem??
By the way here's the url in case you'll need it http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x86_100.64.html |
