Installing Graphics card

I am not really sure how to install the graphics card i received. Its a 1 1/2 old card but a friend gave it to me so i figured id give it a whirl.
Now do i have to uninstall my intel chipset in the device manager than install the graphics card? Sorry, i cant really figure this out. Thanks for the help.

What's the specs on the rest of you machine? This would help us give you a step by step.

But for the most part, you want to uninstall everything graphic related first, then shut down and install new video card. Then start up and run drivers for new card, you should be good.

Here is the page for the latest nvidia drivers. Make sure you have the latest drivers installed also.

If you have onboard video, make sure it is disabled in your bios before putting in the new card...

what kind of system do you have? cuz thats a really low end and old card you got from your friend, so your current one may be better. if its already nvidia, dont do anything, just install the new drivers over it after sticking in the card. fif its anything else, uninstall the old drivers for the old card and then stick in the new one and install the new drivers. uh and do you have intergrated or a card?
