if the pocket book can stand it .....I'd go with the Nvidea him is suggesting.

(like their sample screenshots compariring dx9 versus dx10 in Flight Simulator X)
Normal everyday videos should look the same, I doubt at this time that DX10 will be mandatory, maybe in a few years possibly. |

Hi,
Thanks for all your help. I actually ordered a 6600Gt on your advise, but aparently they are out of stock. So as I am desperate to get playing some good games: Can I get a 7600GT to work on my AGP x4 system? The reason I ask is that it is a AGP x8 Card, but would it work in my system?
Once again thanks |

I have the same pc, dimension 4500 2.6gz
thanks to the information posted here im know what im getting into now
looks like the 7600gs will be the one
and will save me the mistake of buying something too fast for my system
Im also going to upgrade / replace my ram up to 1gig.. http://www.shopping.com/xPF-Dell-Dimension-4500-A-D0816
Having looked at the mobo set up.. seems like 1 gig is the max it can handle..
If I happen to buy a new computer, and they ship it with a 64 meg card or similar.
Will the 7600gs be a good replacement for a faster pc? |

HI there lumpy, welcome to TIMO.
The 7600gs will help, especially coming from a onboard setup. But it's not a top of the line card either. If you don't do much gaming, then it'll be fine. If you plan on playing the new games being released, then I'd say your expecting to much from it.
But all in all, it'll help..
Good luck |
