Well it doesn't look like you're saving much money by going for the 1950Pro, and since the 8600GTS is about on the level with the 1950XT, may as well just go for the newer one for the simple reason of futureproofing with DX10. Won't make a huge difference now, but it could mean you could go longer without needing another upgrade in the future. That on its own is worth the few quid difference in price, IMO. |

8600GTS, no questions asked.
Its the cheapest out of those 3, and the only DX10 card there. |

yeh the MSI 8600GTS looks a bargain at £126, i seen the BFG 8600GTS but thats only very slightly more overclocked as standard but about 20-30 quid more...
i seen some reviews saying 8600GTS is best, then some saying the X1950XT... |

Welcome to TechIMO!
Personally I would wait it out a little while longer with your card. From the reviews i've read and what i've heard the 8600gts is barely on par with the x1950pro. The only benefit of the 8600gts is DX10...However, by the time vista is stable and DX10 games actually start coming out, these dx10 cards will be heavily outperformed.

Well what are the rest of the specs of your rig?
If you running less than 1gb now, definately upgrade. Even if you are running 1gb, the upgrade to 2gb is definately needed for enjoyable gaming for todays games. |

your pc specs seem fine for now, i would wait for prices to drop and the r600 lineup to unveil before i would upgrade. |
