i'd say go for the 640mb card over the 320.
when dx10 games arrive you'll need the extra graphics memory.
don't just read the review sites. trawl the forums. these cards are not without their problems. |

very interesting, i would have been led to believe that the 320mb version was the best value for money, but now that you mention that the 640 might be more worth it, i will consider that (my video card is faulty and i need to replace it). i was also led to believe that the 8800gtx is actually worth the extra money too. is this true? |

Looking quickly through some random benchmarks..... http://www.pcper.com/article.php?aid...e=expert&pid=6
I say 8800 Ultra FTW, just, at top end visuals. Also better upgrade path.
Why get a GTX when you can get an Ultra?
£100 difference in price that would be better spent elsewhere IMO.
Ultra is just a GTX on steroids.

agreed. even if 2 8800gts' in sli was better, a single more powerful card is more justifiable for the money being spent. the gtx is a very powerful performing card and will save you a few hundred dollars (aud). that could go towards my car service |
