How can I find out who hardware manufacturer is for a vid card in an HP?

I have an HP media center pc 873n and I'm having problems with the graphics card drivers.

This PC is about 3 1/2 yrs old. Like all factory builds (HP/Dell/Gateway/etc) it came with one of those stupid proprietary disks that already had the OS AND all necessary drivers on it. I no longer have the CD that came with the PC and the backup "system restore" partition got corrupted and cannot reinstall.

So, I had to fdisk the whole thing and install a new WinXP from a non-manufuacturer specific XP disc. XP couldn't find a driver for it. Now, the screen pans slowly when I scroll through anything (browser windows, word docs, etc). I can't take it.
I have no graphics card drivers and don't know how to find drivers for it.

I already checked HP for drivers. The only thing they have is "updates". These updates assume, of course, that you have the original drivers that came with the system, which I don't.

Ideas please? TIA

Right click My Computer, select Properties, Hardware, Device Manager.
Open up the Display Adapters section. Right click on your video card, select Properties, Details, Hardware IDs.
The numbers in this section should show identify your device manufacturer. Start Googling.
