i believe msi is a very good brand. i have a 7600gt made by msi and i think it is a very good value for money video card. imo the motherboards are something to steer clear of, but other things they make are quite good, such as video cards. the reality is, it's going to be very similar to most other brands. in fact it wouldn't surprise me if most of the manufactured 8800's were sourced from the same place. i don't know how the price compares to that of the evga (which we dont' see much of here in aus) but i'm sure they are comparable.
i think you will find that most people will feel the same way about the video cards. no matter what brand you get, just get something with a good warranty, and that is not too overpriced. i have a lot of gigabyte gear in my system, but asus also have a very good 3 year warranty on ALL of their products. i will be rma-ing my year old gigabyte 7900gt which has recently packed it in, and my manager has informed me that it is going to take forever, being gigabyte. i don't think i will even bother waiting for a replacement card, i will simply buy an 8800gts and be done with it. if they do eventually send me a card back, or repair the old one, i'll sell it. from what newegg's reviews have stated though, the evga looks to be a popular choice. don't be put off by msi. they are by no means a bad company.
