Hi,
I have developed a problem that is another first for me. While playing Company of hero's the screen colour altered so that now everything has a yellow discoloration. I assumed my RGB colour settings had altered but everything looks as it should through the Nivida Display settings.
While the problem started in game, windows and even the brief DOS code seen at system startup are now a dull yellow. The independent monitor menu still shows white properly so I guess that rules out the monitor as the problem (even hooked up an old one to confirm).
Could my graphics card have developed some hardware fault..??? Does anyone have experience of this???
Current rig:
LG LCD monitor
Asus A7N8X Delux
3200 XP
6600 GT
1 GB 3200 ram |

Sounds like a dodgy cable...
Did you use the same cable with both monitors?
If you have a spare, try swapping cable? DVI cable if possible rather than VGA/RGB/D-SUB/whatever else ya wanna call it.

Different cable. The Old monitors is fixed in so I had no choice on that one.
Rookie question but 'Whats a DVI cable?' |

Yup, probably a bad cable or connector either on the monitor, or possibly the video card. When everything turns yellowish, that means there's a problem with the B-lue signal in the R-G-B color signal. You may have to replace the cable, or possibly just the HD-15 pin connector. You might be able to get replacements from Radio $$$hack, but lately they've morphed into a cell phone outlet and don't carry nearly as many electronics components as they used to. Are you good with a soldering iron? |

As I've played with the monitor and cable I think the next bet is to get out the soldering iron and go for the card connector.
I used to be fairly niffty but it's been a few years since I had a job in electronics and even longer since collage.
Thinks for all the help. |

I had the same problem with an older model monitor and it turned out to be a dodgy cable. Hopefully everything works out, it should be an easy fix.
