8800 GTS 320MB information

I have been researching the 8800GTS 320 MB version all day today and stumbled across a great piece of information that I think will help all considering this card, this is from Guru3d.com, here are some key excerpts:

"A single GeForce 8800 GTS requires you to have a 450 Watt power supply unit at minimum if you use it in a high-end system. That power supply needs to have (in total) at least 26 Amps available on the 12 volts rails."

When you visit the full article, notice the section about total power consumption (including PC) does not exceed 315 watts even on high strain tests.

This is because all power supplies have an efficiency of 75-80%.

The "real" power consumption of the system are 315 watts, but if you have in mind the efficiency of a power supply that total wattage go up to 394 watts (take it as 400 watts)

That's why they are suggesting a 450 watts power supply, to ensure you are not going to have any issue running that card even if you're overcloking.
