will my computer run a 8500gt on xp ?? or 8400gs

a professional is going to install a new 600w power supply for me. so that part is sorted out

but what does it mean on the card when it says 512mb

my comp is only 2gb of ram, does this affect it at all

or the XFX 8400GS 256MB

what does the 256mb part mean

on a side note, the 8 series run nearly all the game out at the moment dont they ???

Hi there.
First I want to start off by saying the cards your looking at are comparable to 6xxx series cards. You be better off buying something like a 6800gt. Anything under a 8600GT in the 8xxx series cards are crap, and probably won't play your games any better then onboard GPU's.

If it were me, I would look for the highest 7xxx series you can afford. You'd be much better off with one of those.

The 256Mb,512Mb number means the amount of RAM that the GPU has on the card. In all honesty, it really doesn't make a difference unless your running at high resolutions, then the 512 would be better.

Give us your budget, and let us find you something better....
