Exclamation Graphic card for Flight Simulator X

I would like to have your opinion on which graphic card would be the best for playing Flight Simulator X with nice graphics. I already have a NVidia GeForce 7300 LE card but I am really not satisfied with it. My budget is about 100$-150$.

    Here is my configuration:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 DualCore with 4400 processor
NVidia GeForce 700 LE graphic card
    2GB of RAM
    Running Windows XP
    21'' monitor
    Thanks

    Hi & Welcome to TechIMO

I don't think there is such a thing as a GeForce 700 LE. There is a 7300 LE and 7500 LE though. I'm guessing you have one of those? What operating system are you running, WinXP or Vista?

I'm afraid you will need to spend a bit more than $150 to run FSX nicely at 1680x1050. Otherwise you will still be unsatisfied with the performance. It is a very demanding program.

    Edit:
    Are you in the USA? Newegg.com has a 8600GTS 512MB for $190 after a $10 MIR.

I've been doing some looking around & most sites I've looked at recommend the 8800GTS 640MB to really be able to run high detail at your monitor's native resolution. The lesser 8600GTS 512MB should do pretty good though and will be much better than a 7x00LE. The 8600GTS 256MB version won't do as well at the high resolution.

With the 8600 GTS being DX10 compliant, if you have Vista you can get even more eye candy in FSX. In XP you'd only be running the game in the DX9 renderer.

    Hello,
No disrespect to anybody here, but go to www.avsim.com they will have all the answers to FSX, and anything else dealing with Microsoft Flight Simulators. They will most likely give you more help in configuring not only your system, but FSX for optimum performance. Take Care.
