nothing under 50 bucks is going to be worth buying. Your going to want to spend atleast 100 to get a decent framerate/experience playing. Honestly, i would consider spending more like 200 and getting one of the new ATI HD 3800 series cards.

Lets not put the cart before the horse here throwing $200 into a system might for some be an easy answer but not for all. What are the rest of the system specs, cpu, ram mobo ect.

And PS since the user is talking about "rage pro turbo agp" throwing a ATI HD 3800 at this system would be like throwing money in the fireplace . Not to mention mostly likely the card wouldn't be compatible

LOL! WTH is AGP?! J/k. You know since PCI-E has been around for over 3 years i figured everyone has a board that supports it. Thats very true.

My new answer is buy a new computer with PCI-E and then buy a decent Video card.

A used 9 series ATI or 6 series nVidia card is probably what you want to look for.

WoW doesn't have a very demanding engine, I can play it on low settings on my laptop with integrated Intel graphics, and I know for a fact it plays okay on a 9500 series card.

Seriously, a new computer? You guys should at least try to answer his question rather than just blanketing it with a "get a new computer."

Okay well let me defend my statement.

Based on the fact that A) your running an AGP mobo and B) your budget is 20 bucks, i have safely established that your computer is old.

Even on WoW, there is good enough reason to get yourself a decent gaming machine as there was optimizations for Dual Core processors made in BC and i expect that further support for Dual and potentially Quad Core processors in WoLK.

Suggesting that continuing with the current hardware is like telling someone their machine is enough when in reality its outdated and should be replaced.

As i had mentioned previously, PCI-E is over 3 years old now and has become THE industry standard for video cards. Spending more money on a lesser AGP card is wasting his time more than his waiting for a better answer. Realisticly, going to dell.com and shopping for a new computer from the vostro or dimension line on credit at 20-30 bucks a month is a better option than suggesting he continue with AGP.

Lastly, i would completely agree that WoW does not require much from your computer currently. Then again neither did EQ1 when it was released and that changed quickly as the expansions were released. If WoW continues with its current trend of ever increasing detailed and expansive environments, they are going to steadily push the limits of their minimum requirements or raise them. As WoW is a popular but not entirely encompassing game, not everyone plays WoW basicly, there may be a desire in the future to play addionally taxing games. Mosy AGP cards on the market are not going to be able to play this years games let alone anything made next year with the recent adoption of DX10 and the future of DX10.1.

All this basicly points me to hold firm to my statement of buy a new computer.
