Is the 8800 GTS 512MB better than XFX 8800 GT 512mb XXX??

Hi guys, I have this card
XFX 8800 GT Alpha Dog XXX version(512MB DDR3 memory, 670 MHz/1950 MHz Core/Memory Clock)
so is it slower than the stock 8800 GTS 512MB?
i think the GTS only has more processor right?

just wondering
thanks

Stock GT vs GTS (G92)...

GTS has more shader processors (same as GTX), & If I'm not mistaken, a bit higher clocks... but don't quote me on that last part.

GTS (G92) is better than GT, but not by a whole lot.

as to the one your talking about, the GT has a bit faster clocks on the core, than a stock revision 2 GTS (G92), GTS = 650 core, 1000 Memory (2000 DDR).

simply put, if your talking bout the old version of the 8800GTS, then the 8800GT owns that by a significant amount. if its the new revision of the 8800GTS your talking about then that beats the 8800GT. i dont really know how to tell from your description, but i do know that the old GTS uses the old version of the PCI express slot. both the new GTS and the GT uses the PCI express 2.0 slot

I'd say the 8800 GT Alpha Dog XXX is slightly faster than a stock 8800GTS because of it's higher timings. But it wouldn't take much to push a 8800GTS upwards of Ultra performance.

Both the GT XXX and the GTS 512MB have the G92 core.

All 8800GTS 512MB are the new version based on the G92 core. It's the 320 and 640MB that are based on the older G80 core.

All 8800GT's are G92. There are 256 and 512MB versions as well as factory overclocked ones, but they are all G92.

The 8800GTS 512 has 16 more stream processors than the 8800GT and is also clocked higher stock for stock. It also comes with a pretty decent dual slot cooler so you can likely achieve a higher overclock without having to resort to 3rd party coolers.
