| Good Gaming PC's ???
Hello
Can anyone recommend a good gaming pc capable of playing modern games at high settings ?? My budget is around £500.00GBP.
I will mainly be playing FPS and strategy but would love to play at high settings with fast performance. Thanks !! |

Well, to get the most bang for your buck you should consider building your own. I don't know of any good uk websites to get parts from but I imagine there are a few. Look around, and see if you can find a place to get components. Once you get that, you should be able to find plenty of help on building in these forums.

Definately build your own PC with that budget, PM me if you want 2 good component websits that i frequently use.
I am currently building my own for about £650 and to buy it from a shop there would be another £250 - £300 on top of that ^^ |

| Scan Computers UK: Computer Hardware - All
That is the site I see a lot of people using. I live in the states though, so I've never personally used it.
They seem to have decent prices on hardware.
And I agree with the others, you should try to build it yourself. You'll save money, and get QUALITY components all around. On prebuilt PC's, you'll probably have to upgrade the power supply and video card right off the bat just to play games on high setting.
Just my two cents. |

Hi there..
With the suggestions of building your own computer flying around, if you haven't tried before, then can I recommend an article by bit-tech.net that I read recently (dated 11th June 2008) which attempts to build a balanced gaming computer for £400.
Its a good start from scratch and goes over the key things you will need to look out for. Since your budget is an extra £100 you could upgrade where necessary, or just use it as a reference point, a good read non the less.. bit-tech.net | Guide - Building a £400 Gaming PC
