So it works?

Remember that other people read your posts - sometimes for help. It's up to you to share.

I think we have two problems by two different people in the same thread?!? hehehehe

Anyway, to the original poster, did you get your sound working?
You could try looking for SiS650 drivers instead!
For example:

SIS SiS650 Audio driver for Win98/ME/2000/XP download for Windows XP,Windows 2000,Windows 98,Windows ME

And check if some suggestions on this old thread help:

C-Media AC97 - XP Re-install Kills it

No- Preki11 hijacked this old thread. He doesn't even have C-Media audio.

He hasn't had the courtesy to say how he fixed it either.

I'm sure that he selected the Realtek AC97 from his drop-down, but it be nice to have him say it.

All I know about what kind of computer I have is from going My Computer - Properties and it says

System:
Microsoft Windows XP

Service Pack 3

Computer:
Intel(R)
Pentium(R) 4 CPU 1.60 GHz

and on the front if says "powered by ASUS" but no model number or anything. I brought it 2nd hand and all it came with aswell was a booklet about the motherboard which says it is an ASUS P4S333-VM (SIS 650 Chipset DDR266)

Do I need to more information than that to get the right dirver?? I dont where else to look to get more info if I need it. All I know is as soon as I reinstalled windows XP on my computer the sound won't work and it is the
