Graphics card to replace onboard card

    Hi,
Firstly, I have used this forum a number of times as a source of information and I just want to say thanks. Thanks . I have finally registered in order to ask for advice on what graphics card to purchase in order to do away with my current onboard card. Im from the UK and looking to spend about £50 which is about $95. I want to be able to play some oldish games: Half-life, team fortress, tribes2, tribes vengeance (T&L has been a problem with my onboard card not supporting it). And maybe stretch to half-life 2/ TF2.
My current PC specs can be found here:
Compaq Presario SR5414UK Desktop PC - Product Specifications
Im am not enitrely sure as to what PCI slots I have so here is a picture of my free slots:

I also got this information from my PSU:
    Input: 100 - 127V~ / 8A
    Max power: 300W
    Output: +12V / 19A
    -12V / 0.8A
+5V and +12V total power output cannot exceed 268W
Any advice, help or information would be great. Thanks in advance.

Your computer has an available PCI Express slot for a video card. A good one to get that will work with your current power supply would be an Sapphire ATi Radeon HD 2900 GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI-E.

    Hey,
Thanks for the reply Atomic Rooster. I had a look at the specs for the card and it says a 450W power supply is required. Would my power supply be sufficent?

I have just had this card recommended to me also:
    XFX GeForce 8600 GTS 256MB DDR3 PCI-E DVI 675mhz - PVT84G- UDF3 - www.microdirect.co.uk
Would I be able to run this card? Does either of these two cards have an advantage over the other? Thank you.

Thread, is over a year old, the 5xxx Radeon Series isn't even out yet, and I do believe Post #2 of this thread already came to the conclusion that this person has a x16 PCIE slot.
