Graphics card was working yesterday....now is not :/

Any suggestions why this could be? It's a Sapphire ATI Radeon x1950.

Most of the time the screen stays off, but occasionally it comes on and gets past a few opening screens before freezing.

It was working well yesterday, playing Crysis etc.

make sure the card is in securely, take it out & re insert it, make sure all connections are tight (monitor cable, power cables etc)

is it not working with games, or not working for the over all PC?

I think it's a voltage problem, as this gpu requires much more than im giving it.

Got it on though after an hour or so and it's been on all day gaming.

Think getting it on is the main problem.

If you didn't upgrade the P/S from that setup then its possible you are giving it enough juice. Its also possible that you have a heating issue. As shyguy asked is it not working only with games, or not working for the over all PC?

Overall PC.

The problem as a bit too vaguely stated in my post above seems to have gone away/doesn't really matter, as after ten or so attempts it boots up normally.

The problem I 'was' getting was either the screen didn't register the computer turning on/ the screen would turn on and the sony etc logo would pop up but then it would freeze.

was going to say if it wasn't getting enough juice, it shouldn't be turning on/displaying anything onscreen period.

its possible something was loose & its fixed itself for now.
