bluescreen crashes on 8600 GT

Windows XP SP 2
8600 GT nVidia
amd athlon(tm)64X2 Dual
Core Processor 6400+
3,20 GHz,2.00 GB RAM

Problem:

When playing any sort of Video on Windows media player or VLC player the computer goes into bluescreen and crashes. I have tried out multiple nVidia recommended drivers, all leading to the same result.

Other applications have become more unstable aswell. The main thing is that when I have uninstalled my drivers, everything worked perfectly and the videos never crashed. A friend told me it might be my driver acceleration not working anymore.

Other big programs like games such as WoW go to the same bluescreen if I try to make any graphical change, like maximizing screen or switching refreshrate to a higher value...
Also, when I turned off video overlay , my videos could play without crashing, but the graphical quality is less smooth etc...

im wondering what you guys think... Been messing around with this for a while now and I was hoping someone could help me

Are you sure you have the latest drivers?(http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvist...9_whql.html)Do you have another pc to test your card in to see if the card itself is broken?
