I just bought a Ati Radeon X1900 xtx. After installing the catalyst driver I started experiencing a problem. I want to use a TV as a main screen. I have a DVI input TV which I connected to my Radeon X1900 using a DVI to VGA cable and a converter (so I get TV <--DVI plug -- Vga plug -- DVI converter ---> radeon x1900 )
Now the system starts fine and I can see the BIOS logo on my TV. I can also access BIOS setup. then the VISTA system goes into LOADING WINDOWS mode and then when it should have finished, the TV goes blank and shows NO INPUT SIGNAL. However, everything does work fine when I enter Safe mode (?) - I can use my TV as a screen then.
Also if I use a PC screen (traditonal 19" LG screen) it all works fine, and if I switch cables when Windows VISTA has loaded and is operational I can use the TV then, but when I restart, it doesn't work again.
does anyone know what could be the reason?
I thought the driver most likely as it starts in safe mode fine, also I use this TV with my laptop and it works fine.
