Hi guys,
I've been into the computer scene for a while now, but it wasn't until recently that I made some new purchases. First off, I have a new rig with following specs:
Asus P5Q Pro
3.0 Ghz Core 2 Duo
4 GB DDR2 PC2 8000
BFG Tech GeForce GTX 260
etc.
I recently purchased an LG Scarlett 37", 1080p, 50000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 2.7ms response time, 120 mhz refresh rate. It's currently being shipped.
Full specs here:
LG 37LG60 37" Ultra-Slim Scarlet Series 1080p LCD TV
Basically, the TV only has three inputs I can use, HDMI, VGA, and S-Video. For some reason, it doesn't have a DVI-input. My video card supports DVI-out, and HDTV-out. I have DVI-HDMI and DVI-VGA converters, however. It also reads as HDCP-ready, but I'm not 100% sure what that does. I basically want to be able to hook these two up, at the full 1920x1080 resolution, and play games/ watch movies on it. Is it better to use the VGA? Or should I be using the DVI-HDMI connection? Or the HDTV-Out, with HDCP support? I've never actually personally seen a PC hooked up to an HDTV before, but I hear the results are great. I'm coming from a conventional 22" LCD monitor with a 1680x1050 resolution, and a 5ms response time, and I was wondering if my picture was going to be as crisp as that was?
Also, my TV features a 120 hz refresh rate, which I understand is double the current standard. You guys think my current video card (Geforce GTX 260) will be able to handle it?
Any help appreciated, thanks!
