I have a Sony Vaio with a ASUS P40VX Motherboard. I put in a new ATI graphics card and everything works fine including reboot (warm). If I shut the unit off over night and do a cold boot, the on board video is used in Power on self test (POST). I need to hard stop the system up to 5 times before the AGP-ATI graphics card is detected.
I called sony, they advise there is nothing I can do but bering it to a shop to get the on board port removed. Sounds odd to me. Is there a way to turn off on board (its not in the sony bios (already checked) or a way to connect the 2 cards together to 1 monitor as I only need the AGP ATI when I run my video editing software (2 times a month at most)
Any help appreciated
Tom
