Hello,
I've been using Matrox DualHead G450 and I'm quite happy with it because it satisfied the following needs of mine:
1) Decent tv-output. This is REALLY rare among graphic cards in general... G450 has sharp picture with correct levels. And all the 480 (NTSC) or 576 (PAL) lines, no less or no more, can be used, thus, even interlaced material is shown correctly. And the overlay video, shown in a small window in the primary display, can be fed to full-screen tv-output.
2) Sharp analog 2D picture
3) DualHead - two displays with separate resolutions. This requirement can be compromised, IF the tv-output still works full-screen with small overlay window.
Now I need a new graphic card:
1) The overlay must work with resolutions up to 1920x1080 - the G450 supported only up to 720x576.
2) PCI-E, since AGP is getting obsolete.
Any suggestions?
I've been looking at Matrox Parhelia APVe that is a little expensive but probably an usable one. Does anyone have experience with that one? Does the overlay work with full-HD and does the NTSC/PAL-TV-out work with HD videos (downscaled, of course)?
Happy New Year!
