    Matrox G400 question?

    Anybody knows what "mgabg.exe" does?

I have this listed as "service" automatic start & as "process" running.
A search on Matrox web page and on Google didnt revealed much!

    Thanks,
    Puk

That is Matrox's 'Bios Guard' program. It monitors the card's BIOS, and reflashes it if it gets corrupted.
If you download Matrox's BIOS package, you can make an emergency BIOS crash disk to keep handy in case of a failure, and disable mgabg in windows.

this is what they told me

Yes it's part of the drivers. You can disable it if you want it won't cause any problems. It's simply a small program to protect the BIOS on the card.
