HD 4850 Power Supply Help
Hello Folks- I'm a novice computer user and I recently bought an HP Pavillion Elite m9426f. Here are its basic components:
Processor: Intel Quad q6600
HD: 650 GB Single
Ram: 8 Gig DDR2
Single DVD writer
HD 3650 512mb Graphics
Vista 64 Premium
300 watt PSU
I recently started play World in Conflict and decided I want to upgrade my Graphics to a HD 4850. It's my understanding that the factory 300 watt power supply is not sufficient to do the job nor does it have a 6 pin PCI-E plug. I happen to have a barley used Antec 380 watt power supply with a PCI-E plug in my possession that I could install. Will the extra 80 watts be enough to power an HD 4850 or should I purchase a new PSU?
Thanks

The 380 watt PSU may work, but I somewhat doubt it.
I would get at least a 400 watter from Silverstone or FSP Group, preferably a 500 or 600 watt unit from OCZ, Silverstone, FSP Group, Antec, or Seasonic.
